Mitsubishi actually goes back to 1870 when the founder Yataro Iwasaki started a shipping firm. The original Mitsubishi organisation was disbanded into several independent companies. Over the years Mitsubishi has been allied or participated in joint ventures with several other car manufacturers, but it is still known as a brand in its own right and has a long-standing association with Jackie Chan, who has used Mitsubishi vehicles almost exclusively in his movies for thirty years.

You don’t need to be Jackie Chan to appreciate the finesse of a Mitsubishi though, and these cars are incredibly popular in the UK.
